What is that cable called?

Its a cable that has a headphone plug on one side and the cord leads to r/y/w component cables?

Sounds like a composite video cable to me.

you are probably talking about a camcorder AV cable. it has the standard red/white/yellow RCA connectors and a 1/8" jack on the other side, except that the 1/8" jack has 3 separate contacts + ground. if it is for older ipods, i believe that the layout is different than the standard so the cables don't work without modification.

For the iPods I believe that they just switch right audio and video or something; hardly needing modification.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the PSP uses a similar type of cable to connect to a TV. They've also got a similar set of cables for component video.

I thought the PSP ran out of the USB on the top.?

It might... Seems to me I remember the PSP's video cable had a headphone plug on the end. Or at least that's what I remember from looking at the packaging.

The PSP has a USB port on top, but the video output from the PSP is sent out of the whatever-you-call-it port that's part of the Headphone port.
