Engraving/Etching on the 360 hdd
Hey,
I lost my 360 hdd and am currently buying a new one. I will probably end up buying a 20gb and a 120gb wd bevs hdd and doing the mod, and I was just wondering if anyone knew if and how I could put a 1 in front of the 20 on the hdd so it says 120 hdd. I would like this to actually look like the 120gb ones do, otherwise I just won't bother.
Thanks

Sorry to have such a negative first post, but I'm afraid you're wrong, Basement. Microsoft make money from the drives after all, so (unless things have changed since I last heard) they only allow certain models of HDD - in order to upgrade you need to buy the same drive used in a commercial Microsoft HD, like the WD Bevs, limiting you to 20, 60 and 120gb. You then need to use a tool to correctly format the drive so the 360 can use it.
Crap, huh?

Make a stencil of the one, get an engraver tool (My dollar store has them half the time), then put the stencil perfectly on (The stencil should of been 120 by the way so you can line up the 2 and the 0), then tape down the stencil. Engrave as best as you can. Worst case scenario, people ask why the 1 is so crappy, say I modded it myself, something you won't be able to do!
Or just buy a broken 120GB harddrive off ebay (The 360 one)
