I wonder who you would contact for that kind of thing?Mario wrote:Thank you very much, mmoshkowich.
Hammerstein: I wonder if Sony has a warehouse full of those screens that they never sold? We should get somebody to contact them.
Is there an Obsolete Hardware Division? There MUST be.

No obsolete hardware division, at least not in the US. When a product is discontinued, its support staff is usually transferred to another department.jjhammerstein wrote:I wonder who you would contact for that kind of thing?Mario wrote:Thank you very much, mmoshkowich.

However, much like the GBA, the lifespan of the ps1 was much longer in other countries. I doubt that there is a even a foreign division for PS1 support now, though.
I have 4 psone LCDs, maybe I should sell a few.

Excellent
How much would you sell them for?
I have been working on the email, here it is so far:
Hello Sony,
I am part of a huge modding community at http://www.forums.benheck.com/. We take home game consoles such as the Playstation One and Two, Nintendo 64, and many others. If you look around at completed portables in the "News" section, you can see that your PS One screen is the standard screen for these systems. And for good reasons, too. These screens are easily modifiable, a nice size at 5", can take a variety of video inputs like composite, S-Video, RGB, and VGA. These factors make your PS One screen ideal for these implementations.
I'm going to include some links of the nicest portables using their screens and the modifications we make to them, and I still have to ask them if they have any stock left, and if they would sell them. Whaddya guys think?

I submitted a "request for product research" form just now, they're supposed to get back to me in a day.

Good idea. I took out any mention of Nintendo. Then I added some links of PSone and PS2 portables using the PSone screen. Here is the final result:

My main question is, do you have any leftover stock of these unique screens, and would you be willing to sell some of them to us for around $40 US? People are always looking for these screens. We usually have to get your screens from eBay. Please consider making these screens available to our community.

What do you guys think? Any modifications I should make before I send it?
