SNES, of course. And do I have to pick one specific game? I'm currently obsessing over Super Metroid (I finally got a copy) but there are so many to choose from. Competition with Sega was good for the Super Nintendo.

NINTENDO SIXTY-FOUUUUUUR!

N64 was the first console I owned, and the one I played the most at my cousin's house (also some SNES with him). It was $55 used at Funcoland (NOT Gamestop). It has so many good games: Paper Mario, Smash Bros., Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 2, Pokemon Snap, and so many more great titles. Once I get around to making a portable (which will hopefully be this summer), it will definitely be an N64p.
CronoTriggerfan wrote:The game library is so massive, you'll be playing for years to come.

Some Must-Plays:
CHRONO TRIGGER!!!!!!!!! Very Happy
Terranigma (VERY rare and pricey, but excellent)
Final Fantasy VI (III in America)
Final Fantasy IV (II in America)
Breath of Fire series
Mega Man X Series
ActRaiser
Kirby Super Star
TMNT 4
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid

...and that's just a FRACTION of what you have to look at!
I hope to get into SNES at some point. I've played some SNES at my cousin's house, and a bit through emulation. Once I have more money and more time on my hands (read: summer), I may purchase a SNES and some games.

I like my cartridge consoles. The discs are just so fragile. I love my N64. Best games are Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough. Gotta have the rumble, though. That makes it. :P

I recall liking my SNES, but since I haven't seen it in two years, I can't remember what games I liked.

I just got an NES emulator today, and I'm really enjoying Rescue Rangers. I also picked up Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves, and that's been great, too. The game I love the most though, is Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle. I'm looking out for a copy of that.

As for the PS2, I like FMA:Broken Angel, the LOTR games, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and The Sonic Mega Collection. I also play some James Bond games a lot, but they're a lot harder for me than the N64 versions.

I do love my DS, but when it comes to systems minus emulation/homebrew and virtual console on them, I'm gonna go with the SNES.

I'm taken to the Dreamcast myself. The massive selection of Homebrew gave it the ability to emulate anything up to the playstation. That and there was a super selection of games. Quite possibly the best designed console I've seen in my life.

For me it would be the SNES and the Xbox 360.

Favorite games...

SNES = A Link to the Past (best Zelda ever IMO) and Actraiser

Xbox 360 = BioShock, Oblivion, and Rock Band

Agreed 100%, though I loved my PS2 as well. And as a JRPG guy, I'd probably throw Lost Odyssey in with the 360 titles. :P

Ahhhh... So Lost Odyssey is worth a look then? That one kind of slipped off my radar.

I suppose before bumping that one up my Gamefly queue I should probably start in on Eternal Sonata (it came from Gamefly a week or so ago and remains in the envelope).

I should have known that you would be the one to give Lost Odyssey a spin. :D

PS - Oh how I wish a next gen Actraiser would get made! How cool would that be?!?

Jongamer wrote:N64, I never was a RPG type of guy, Super Mario RPG and the Paper Mario games are the only Turn based RPGs I can stand.

I don't care if the game has a epic story, if it bores me to death, forget it.

Hmmm, I attack, enemy attacks, Use magic, enemy attacks, I heal or attack again. That is so freakin' boring.

I could only stand the Mario RPGs because they were quirky, funny, and the fact that I have known and been playing Mario games since I was 3 kinda helps.

RTS, MMOs, FPS? bah! if I want to play a FPS, I would go out an buy a 360. (Mouse and Keyboard just feel foreign to me, I much prefer the Dual Analogs.)
Tomba! is a good platformer/light RPG too. too bad it's so damned expensive now.

In most cases they are usually quite rare.

Yeah, it's really awesome. A bit slow and grindy, but what JRPG isn't? :P The graphics are incredible, the score is fantastic, and though the story's a bit generic, the character development and voice acting is all top-notch. Eternal Sonata's an awesome one, too. I only rented it, but now that it's gone down in price, I may buy it. I guess I just appreciate that someone has the balls to try something different in a genre that's pretty monotonous.

As for a next-gen ActRaiser, who WOULDN'T want one? :D If Square-Enix retained all the rights after the merger, I think they could make one hella epic game on the new consoles. Just keep the strategy part; don't wanna make the same mistake twice! (God, ActRaiser 2 sucked).
