Windows Vista beats Ubuntu Linux so badly... sorry.
I'm going to have to kick you in the nuts for a second; while I myself don't like to use Linux for more than a few liveCD tasks like recovery and very small systems, I must say you are being an idiot here.
Microsoft Office is not only ridiculously overpriced, it's slow. It's very inefficient. Openoffice supports the format nearly perfectly anyway!
The gimp? It's, in a technical sense great, but personally I don't like it. I hate photoshop too, though, it too is slow and inefficient.
Vista is a horrid system, shut up. you can change the way linux looks nearly indefinitely. Why not make a new skin with your precious photoshop?
Personally, I hate Ubuntu. Slackware and SLAX are the ones that I've come to like most.
I must side with you in one sense that I hate how everyone is so overhyped about Firefox. Calm down everyone, it's just a browser. "But it has addons!" Yeah, addons to replace features it's missing!
Seriously! Internet exploder is horrible, but what's wrong with Safari and Opera? Opera (beta 9.5), from what I can tell, feels like a firefox that renders things slightly better, and has much better scrolling (that jerky trash in forefox they call "smooth scrolling" is... well, jerky)
Negative_Creep wrote:project_failure wrote:Openoffice is awesome It is compatible with M$ office and works just as well. The only major difference is where some of the tools are placed. It's stable and runs on windows. All this plus being free means I will never buy Microsoft office.
From personal exprience, I found Openoffice to be unstable and crash often.
From personal experience, you're either
-Using an old version
-Using an unstable beta
-Lying out of your "arse" (you sound REALLY COOL when you censor things)
Criticising linux is fine. Saying you dislike it is fine. Stupidly attacking it with invalid answers is not fine, and you will be argued against.
Deal with it.
