So, you bought a console for more money that has a lower resolution screen, a horrid D-pad-joypad-stick-rapefest, less features, a lack of good controls, less processor power, less RAM, double-A-battery-power, low battery life, and very little games, and then tried to present it as superior to the PSP?samus wrote:a guy at work recently bought a psp, when he showed me i just shook my head and showed him the good ol' gp2x.

Why weren't samus, ketchup, and bic told to shut up? They did exactly the same thing....Skyone wrote:SHUT UP.Bibin wrote:So, you bought a console for more money that has a lower resolution screen, a horrid D-pad-joypad-stick-rapefest, less features, a lack of good controls, less processor power, less RAM, double-A-battery-power, low battery life, and very little games, and then tried to present it as superior to the PSP?samus wrote:a guy at work recently bought a psp, when he showed me i just shook my head and showed him the good ol' gp2x.

I have and use homebrew on a DS lite a psp and a gp2x. GP2x and PSP are the superior ones but both have ups and downs but I prefer GP@X just because it is much easier and messing up your gp2x is nearly impossible unlike the psp. The only thing I use my psp for that I cant use my gp2x for is some n64 now and again.Bibin wrote:So, you bought a console for more money that has a lower resolution screen, a horrid D-pad-joypad-stick-rapefest, less features, a lack of good controls, less processor power, less RAM, double-A-battery-power, low battery life, and very little games, and then tried to present it as superior to the PSP?samus wrote:a guy at work recently bought a psp, when he showed me i just shook my head and showed him the good ol' gp2x.

sucks, sorry gamer
Only sony stuff I bought in the past few years has been off ebay so I guess I'm not really supporting them
but I will probably buy a slim off ebay soon
I used to have a gp2x and a psp phat
definitely preferred the psp, bought a nice powerful battery, and a big memory stick and you're set, I thought the emulation was a bit better on it as well
of course I havn't really checked up on the whole gp2x scene in awhile

My minidisc player has decided not to die, ever. It's got sand in it before, it's been fully submerged in water for a minute, and it's just seen regular use.
Not all things are bad, my Sony digital camera seems to be working fine and it's 5 years old. My PSP works great and I prefer it to the GP2X that I had. The screen's a bit different, but everything else is much better.

Yes, Sony, Microsoft, Apple, they're all evil corporations. And people still buy up their products like no tomorrow. Ben and Jones have discussed this on their podcast a lot, for every person that has had bad luck with a Sony product there are hundreds that have never had a single problem. Sounds like you just had a bad experience.timmeh87 wrote:I think everyone is missing the point that sony is an evil corporation who has always made things that break. And lets not forget rootkit.
I think we should boycott sony anyways.
As far as the rootkit debacle, companies make bad decisions. The public outrages, and they change. I'm sure there are thousands of examples from other huge companies that have done similar stupid things.

although this thread is kind of stupid, sony is, in fact, evil.
What you're all completely ignoring here, even though it has been mentioned before is the rootkits sony justified by saying "most people don't even know what a rootkit is, so why should they care about it?"

best? I beg to differ!Negative_Creep wrote:Lets boycott the company who makes possibly the best consoles since 1994.

And you're completely ignoring a few facts as well.Kyo wrote:What you're all completely ignoring here, even though it has been mentioned before is the rootkits sony justified by saying "most people don't even know what a rootkit is, so why should they care about it?"
1. It's not even Sony software. It's really Extended Copy Protection, licensed by Sony from the British company "First 4 Internet" (now Fortium Technologies Ltd).
2. Sony has a freely available removal utility on their website. (<a href="http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/faq.h ... l">Here</a>.)
3. They recalled all the XCP affected discs.
4. They no longer use it on any of their discs, and it was only ever included on about 50 titles.
They did use some questionable copy protection software, but they also corrected the problem.

I'm not trying to flame, but did he shake his head when he noticed that GP2X doesnt have...lifeisbetterwithketchup wrote:*high five*samus wrote:a guy at work recently bought a psp, when he showed me i just shook my head and showed him the good ol' gp2x.
Analog Control, a Decent D-Pad, Wifi, Hardware 3D Rendering, Mostly 100% Emulators, Full Speed PSX Emulation with Excellent Compatablity, a huge list of excellent commercial software (does GP2X even have any?), a Web Browser, Wireless Network and Online Games, A Slim and Light Design (as opposed the chunky and sizey GP2X)?
Can't have a discussion without an argument
