Boycotting Sony...
Especially the PSP.
It is a faulty gaming console, the system is over priced, its clunky and it breaks Memory Cards.
Recently My original PSP memory card broke, figured that I left it in the system while charging too long because it was fried majorly. yesterday I go to the local game crazy, and picked up a new card for $34, 1 GB not soo shabby, its nice and green. I go and put stuff on it just now and BOOM it breaks, fried the same way. This is too many times in One 30 day period to be a coincidence. This shows that the PSP console is breaking these and that the PSP is faulty.
Boycotting sony is a logical choice. Dont buy the PSP. Spread the word.
I have pics as soon as my roommate finds his cable for the digital camera.

No, it's a trigger-happy "let's jump to conclusions and place blame" choice.gamer2 wrote:Boycotting sony is a logical choice.
How many other unique occurrences of this issue have you found? Have you done any more research into this problem? Maybe it's just your particular unit. Maybe something happened to it somewhere between leaving the factory and when the card bit the dust. There's nothing shorting anything out inside the unit, is there? How old is it?
I bet a JPEG of a Monopoly dollar that your PSP broke or was damaged somewhere along the line.
And need I remind you that nobody made you buy, use, or invest more money the PSP in the first place.
Besides, that's like me saying "My Walkman ate my Weird Al tape! BOYCOTT!"
I know the monetary values aren't the same, but when you consider this was in sixth grade when $20 is a lot of money... The basic concept is the same.

I cannot find anything about this, it may have been a rare occurrence. But crap when you are strapped for cash like I am, you get a bit "t-o"ed about $60.

Of course he fixed it because his wasn't fried.

But like I said, you can't blame Sony for this, they didn't drag you to Circuit City and force you to buy another memory stick.gamer2 wrote:But crap when you are strapped for cash like I am, you get a bit "t-o"ed about $60.
If that image is of your stick, it almost looks like the chip overheated and burnt out. Could be a short.

Most likely its a short on the PSP Mobo, but I removed the green one when I wasn't doing anything with it.bicostp wrote:But like I said, you can't blame Sony for this, they didn't drag you to Circuit City and force you to buy another memory stick.gamer2 wrote:But crap when you are strapped for cash like I am, you get a bit "t-o"ed about $60.

Hardware defects happen, and unfortunately the company is not going to be able to catch them all. I had a processor die on my PowerMac G5. Does that mean I automatically hate Apple and think their products should be boycotted? No. It's a manufacturing defect that one in a few hundred or thousand people experience. So just because your PSP has a defect does not mean Sony sucks. If it's still under warranty, get it fixed. If not, move on with your life and stop whining.gamer2 wrote:Most likely its a short on the PSP Mobo, but I removed the green one when I wasn't doing anything with it.bicostp wrote:But like I said, you can't blame Sony for this, they didn't drag you to Circuit City and force you to buy another memory stick.gamer2 wrote:But crap when you are strapped for cash like I am, you get a bit "t-o"ed about $60.

Right, like everything every other company has ever made is completely indestructible.timmeh87 wrote:I think everyone is missing the point that sony is an evil corporation who has always made things that break.

Let's live out in the forests with our creature friends and start camp fires and sing songs.
Then work our asses off to make a decent living, like building a house and find sources of food and water.
Electricity? BAH! It comes from those evil companies, and I'm pretty sure a few house fires have been started by electricity!
And those plumbing companies... People have drowned. It must be the companies fault.
