Removing a silk-screened (?) logo

Post by khaag »

How could I go about removing the verizon logo off this battery? I think its been silk-screened on, but I'm not sure...

I tried using rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, but it didn't do anything.

Here's a picture of the battery in question:

Paint Remover or some sort of Acid. Maybe try some sort of Citrus juice?

Why do you want to remove it?

Well my Chocolate decided to die on me... (I just get a white screen and the start up noise). So, I take it back to the dealer where I bought it, and to my utmost surprise and distress, he tells me that its been wet! Turns out the little indicator sticker on the battery was red (I guess it turns from white to red when its been in contact with moisture). So he tells me that warrenty doesn't cover it because its been wet. I took it home and then examined the rest of the phone. On closer inspection, I found that the indicator sticker on the actual phone part wasn't red! So, being the brilliant mastermind that I am, I went to ebay and ordered another battery. However, it was a verizion one, and my phone is a Telus one (theres no logo on the phone though). So now I need to remove the verizion logo so I can go get my phone fixed. I feel empty without my baby.

just scratch the crap out of the whole battery, so you can't tell anymore. or buy a cheap crappy skin, or put a sticker on it.

Get a sugar cube and scratch the logo off.

And about those water sticker things... what if you covered it with a piece of tape with something over it so it doesn't get torn off? Could that protect it from changing colors?

Bah. It seems that the logo is embedded in the plastic.

That was my first thought. It's got a layer of clear plastic over all the stuff. That's usually the case these days.

May I ask why you didn't just buy yourself a new battery?

Maybe they won't care that its a Verizon battery. Or you could just not even have a battery in it when you take it in. Say that when it stopped working, you put it away until you could get to the store, and the battery got lost (ya its a lie, but its not like you're trying to cheat them).

Or why not just put the new battery in and use the phone? xD. Maybe the battery is the problem and thus buying that new battery on ebay just solved your problem. (Like take the one from ebay and put it in your phone.)

cell phone companies are stupid. we use us cellular and they told us multiple times about multiple phones that have been in contact with moisture because of the indicator. uh yea. we live in a really humid area. yea, they're stupid.

also, i agree, all you really need is a new battery from the sounds of it. you should be fine. and i'm in for scratching the hell out of it and paint over it or something.
