Well my Chocolate decided to die on me... (I just get a white screen and the start up noise). So, I take it back to the dealer where I bought it, and to my utmost surprise and distress, he tells me that its been wet! Turns out the little indicator sticker on the battery was red (I guess it turns from white to red when its been in contact with moisture). So he tells me that warrenty doesn't cover it because its been wet. I took it home and then examined the rest of the phone. On closer inspection, I found that the indicator sticker on the actual phone part wasn't red! So, being the brilliant mastermind that I am, I went to ebay and ordered another battery. However, it was a verizion one, and my phone is a Telus one (theres no logo on the phone though). So now I need to remove the verizion logo so I can go get my phone fixed. I feel empty without my baby.
And about those water sticker things... what if you covered it with a piece of tape with something over it so it doesn't get torn off? Could that protect it from changing colors?
Maybe they won't care that its a Verizon battery. Or you could just not even have a battery in it when you take it in. Say that when it stopped working, you put it away until you could get to the store, and the battery got lost (ya its a lie, but its not like you're trying to cheat them).
Or why not just put the new battery in and use the phone? xD. Maybe the battery is the problem and thus buying that new battery on ebay just solved your problem. (Like take the one from ebay and put it in your phone.)
cell phone companies are stupid. we use us cellular and they told us multiple times about multiple phones that have been in contact with moisture because of the indicator. uh yea. we live in a really humid area. yea, they're stupid.
also, i agree, all you really need is a new battery from the sounds of it. you should be fine. and i'm in for scratching the hell out of it and paint over it or something.
