Wouldnt it be weird is God was just like a just a person (maybe more) in a super macro scale and the entire universe is nothing by a project or experiment they made. Kind of reminds me of the ending to MIB where the milky way was in a marble.

Wow.... Some people are really soooo closed-minded.

Look at the Christian or any other religion. NOTHING else can be right. You know why? Because that religion leaves no room for error. Sure, maybe more people hold that faith than others, but I think it's sad that a lot (maybe not in your area) of Christians that I know believe that if you have a different religion and you know about the Christian religion, you will burn in hell. I'm not saying that I believe that or that I believe in a hell at all, but don't you think that's a bit too much?

Sorry to get off track, but that kind of thinking is what I'm seeing a lot of in this string.

Yes, I agree that we are too closely tied to time, but it is an invention of man. Just like math, it's a unit of measurement. Yes, if you said that 1 + 5 = 8, we would call you crazy, or atleast correct you. We have standard systems like math to tell why we THINK things work the way they do, to organize our lives, to set standards, and to give quantitative and qualitative measurements.

There is no other way than 1 + 5 = 6. Any other answer (even with a proof like the proof that 1 = -1 {If you'd like me to show you that proof, email me}) is an erroneous answer.

That's my thoughts.

John K.

P.S. Carbon Dating isn't the ONLY proof that the earth is older than 7000 years. And we are finding signs of evolution, which happen over such a long period of time that you couldn't, personally, even HOPE to see it in 1 or even 10 lifetimes (not to mention that our modern lifestyles provide VERY little need to evolve. Evolution comes from necessity. Constantly creating a comfortable environment doesn't leave much necessity.). Look at the hight of males now compared to even just 1000 years ago.

And remember: There is an acception to EVERY rule.

And that Darwin ended his book with " and non of this would be possible with out the devine lord". People have just changed it into something else.

I'd also like to point out toward that thing about carbon dating being the only thing that can prove that the Earth is older than 7000 years, what about fossils and things like oil (natural). That stuff cant be fact and natural oil requires thousands of years to be made form the remains of microsciopic planets.

Just point out things, ok.

No, in Christianity you will go to Hell if you do not honestly belive that Jesus Christ died for your sins and that God is the Creator the universe. God loves everone and gave us the choice of free will. We don't have to listen to him or show him as much love as he shows us. We can live in sin and spite God every day... And we can take a one way ticket to Hell. God does not want us to take that path but, he will not make us go to curch if we don't want to. It's Your Choice get saved, It's Your Choice to trust in God, It's Your Choice to go to Hell. That's the truth, That's Reality.
When all things in life are done, Love will be one of the most important endevours one could set out on...

There are things about going to hell. One being that you will get out. Why's that? Well God is all knowing and Understanding, hell is a punishment but how can you burn or (if you see hell as Dante described it) be tourtured for all eternity after making a mistake in one life time. However people in the 9 circile of hell might not leave as they betrayed trust and that is an nearly unforgivable sin.

The people who say that evolution is just a theory obviously don't know that a theory is not a flexible thing. It is not like a random guess that some idiot threw out. Put it this way gravity is a theory, and i think you all agree that it exists. So if you disagree by saying its just a theory you might as well be saying that gravity is really jesus pushing us down. and also the earth has only existed for a few million years and was colonized by telephone sanitizers. you know, we're not really supposed to talk about religion and stuff but since this is turning out to be a reasonable, mature conversation I'll put in my two cents..........just wanted to say that even if you don't believe Jesus is God and our Savior or even in God, Jesus still had many very good ideals and philosophies which could apply to anyone. one of my favorite would probably be "Love your enemy" for I personally think it's one of the hardest things to do for anyone, and that if you can do that you're a pretty good person :)...........

just my two cents, although I could've said more, but I've got homework to do :(.......
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

It's like this: Hell is not a sentence that God gives you. Everyone is born into sin and the consequences of sin is death. (We are born into sin because of the Original Sin.) If you get saved and trust in God you will be taken into Heaven. If you don't you will go to Hell (By Default.)

@gotchocolatemilk2: then you follow his teachings and philosophies? if yes, good for you :). if no, try harder :)!!!!!!! He's got some good principles to live by :), even if you don't believe he's God (like I said before.....)

*note: I'm trying to stay neutral about all this, if you haven't noticed.............

oh yeah, and what I think about the actual subject of this thread: I pretty much KNOW Evolution is true, becuase of some equation we learned about last year....can't really remeber it, though and it's kind of hard to explain...anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't personally believe in god, but i think the bible and all religions have great teachings and it would be a better place if we lived by the ten commandments.

This was kinda started off as a non-religous querry, but it seems like it was inevitable that religion would be argued in this thread.
