Not the point, Lych. Try to grow up, ok?
The point is that a bunch of walmart and target jerk-offs decided to try and screw their competition by releasing an anticipated product early and those certain will probably pay the price by not getting the DS III or whatever until a week after it's release date or whatever. Probably will happen with the Wii. I'm sure Nintendo's VERY unhappy with this.

If iots so easy to make it that small for them, then why don't they just sell it as small as possible! OMG HALF LIFE 2 IS OUTE (the one with alex...)!!!
We're talking about Nintendo, not Apple.

I was not being childish, I am talking about nintendo, if they can release something the size of the ds, then turn around, and make a way smaller one almost a year after the origonal, then wuold it have been so hard to make a small one in the first place. Yes mac does that just with I pods too... I figure its how the small people stay in biusness. I just find it rather anoying how they keep making the same thing, only smaller, when they probobally could have done it in the first place.

Um, no, they made it smaller now because the techonology is cheaper to do so now......Sure, they could've designed the original DS to look better, but the reason they're releasing the DS lite now is because to make it it smaller (and insanely brighter, I hear) costs money. Money that people were not likely to pay back when the DS came out...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Gamelver, the DS lite coming out doesn't show that the price came down for the parts the DS uses. The DS lite is just like the GBA Micro, they dropped something (likely GBA support) to get the thing smaller and sell it like it's something new and great. Nintendo did it a lot with the Gameboy, anyone remembe the Gameboy Color. Come on you know that Nintendo does it.
I'm not going to knock Gamelver on the the GBA SP if that is one of this examples. That came out a few years later and was the first Gameboy to have a backlit screen. That was a good improvement not to mention the compact clamshell design so the screen doesn't get scratched up.
And it Apple's defence they did release the iPod with only suttle changes but I'd say when the click wheele came out it warrented buying it. Then they had the 4G which had photo ablities and then theres the 5G that has video. The iPod nano I can only see being useful in you are going to go running or exersicing with it. The shuffle, I wont argue, it was really pointless.

Gamelver, techonlogy, believe it or not, dosn't imporve that fast with electronics like this. All they did was remake the circut bored on an autocap program made for electronics, and made a machione make it. The parts didn';t get any snmaller, they just decided to make a smaller one because they need more money, so they use tircks (i guess you could call it that... but there not rly tircks... nutin agenst nintendo...) to get you to buy the newest version.

Why am I not surprised to be seeing NES_fanatic preech about the uber-profitability of Nintendo...AGAIN.
SavageLych is sorta correct here; the technology on the circuit boards does not really "improve." However, as Gamelver (what does that name stand for again???) was implying, the cost of producing the same technology decreases.
I think I'll avoid the DS lite for now. It looks a little cramped and uncomfortable for my hands.
