JUMPING THE GUN: DS Lite Surprise Early Launch TODAY!

Yesserie-bob, the Nintendo DS lite was sent to stores almost two weeks early to help stores stock up for what will certainly be an instant sell-out. The catch? This item is so hot, retailers have been selling these early lites against Nintendo's will.

I, uh, can't find an official site to confirm this, since Nintendo didn't want people to know, and had nothing to do with it. All I can say is go to your local shop, they may have them now!

Here's a straight-up quote from DS meet, probably one of the most trusted non-nintendo sites for news:

It seems like Nintendo decided to ship their beloved new handheld redesign early to retailers in order to build up sufficient stock to be able to combat the inevitable frenzy of fanboys hoping to get one on day one. There's one thing they forgot: supply trucks aren't invisible.

To keep it short: DS Lites are in stores, and they are selling them, even though they're not allowed to, officially. So, if you happen to live close to a Wal-Mart or something equivalent, try walking in and see if they have any DS Lites... you might just get one!

I remember when they did this with the slimline PS2's, I got one from Wal-mart 6 weeks early!

Well, I went to Walmart, and they had it! But.... they couldn't sell it to me... when they scaned it, it said they couldn't sell it.

To think I would be playing a DS lite as we speak... BUT NO!

They said something about Target having them.... I should check that out.
