I think he means where the two pieces meet, glue/epoxy there, then mold the bondo over top of that. Then when you get it the way you like it, you will have to sand everything real smooth.

Oh and thanks for the "good luck"! :D

THIS IS A PROGRESS THREAD!!!!!! Now that that's out of the way, i was looking back at OLD posts of PS2p's before the slimline came out and was wondering what other peoples ideas were. I looked at a few posts and saw Gannon's thread. I realized that the only thing from makin MY case a total of 1&1/2" instead of 2" [this would just be the top half of an old ps2 case] and look totally mean is the hugemungousness of the DVD drive, and the bottom ribbon connector for the controller port.

That sticks out 1/16th of an inch too far if i cut the case flat. So ive decided to buy another case and see if i could slimmitize the drive and make it load from the right side. Like so

Image
This CAN be done, just with some Dremel skill, and lots of Mug Root Beer. :o I need opinions on this, just to see if it would be cooler to have a right side loading DVD tray on a portable, but mainly when the system is on your lap and if you somehow press the eject button it could hit your stomach and cause internal gaseous combustion. :?

EDIT: Further arrangement of the laser unit would be arduous and time consming. I'm just going to go with the front load, after seeing the laser arm would overlap the motor for the disc tray. oh well

He means are you going to have the controller built-in like a handheld, or have an external jack where you plug the controller in and play?

No, I decided when i started making the PS2M that i would just have a wireless controller used. Would you want to have a HUGE handheld?? Image the pain and uncomfortability

It should look like this when completely finished, tho i designed it using paint. It will sit ontop of your lap when you play, or on top a table. Your hands will rest on the left and right sides of the console.

My SNESp MK1 was pretty huge, but it was really comfortable, so I dunno if it would be that bad.

I thought about that but i decided against it. I'm having trouble slimming the area under the DVD case, seems that the connectors for the ribbon cables are sticking out, and i cant close the case completely. Im trying to cut into the bottom case and not THRU it :x . I'll have the main case done today w/ some pics but the screen case will not be done until i get paint. :(

I'm pretty sure i grabbed the wrong bondo, its glazing and spot putty-- i should have grabbed the stuff that says it hardends like METAL. :( I would like to know how many hours of gameplay i can get out of THIS battery, it's rated at a MAX of 9A on low switch, I think i could get about 3 1/2 hrs. out of it.

I really think that this is looking nice. Keep it up. Also, where in GA do you live? I live in Marietta, a town just near Atlanta. (also the only town in his path that William Sherman didn't burn to the ground)

If you lived in ATL, you would be a drunk gangster dealing drugs in an alley. >_> I go to a school full of it. Marietta city I think is the second worst middle school in the state. The high school, ironically is one of the best though. The middle school has drugs and gang violence and an average of age 15 in 8th grade. (And I mean average, I see some 17 there) And I cannot wait to see that update. Did you order those "X-tra bright" LEDs from hong kong too? I love those. Brightness.
