Wait what if they are trying get us? Maybe "Wii" is really the name of some new service like Xbox Live! that goes with the Rev and they are just trying to emphasise how much apart of the system it is, like the way plans are to cellphones. After all the name almost makes sense for a service of that type. Oh well we'll just have to wait and see.

Why this this is a problem
Wii + Wand controller = some sick gay sounding sayings
Yes thank you nintendo I always wanted to say, "Dude lets play with my Wii and fling it across the room."Dude1: Hey man lets go play with my Wii.
Dude2: What?
Dude1: I said I want to play with my Wii and fling it all over the place while I play Zelda.
Dude2: Man you are sick?

Why cater to every whim? I see this as a personal screw you to the people out their who can't say "Wii" without being disgusted/delighted with it as some dick/piss joke. Some maturity THEY have. I love double entendres like "most" guys do, but there's a line between cleverness and stupidity. The problem isn't necessarily all within the name, but with certain people. I believe they should've grown out of those dick jokes upon leaving grade school.. I mean, if I hear a double entendre, I'll chuckle, but it won't stop me from enjoying what I set out to do in the first place. Who the hell forsakes a console because of a stupid name? I know--Nintendo isn't catering to everyone's whims; why lower yourself to accepting people's pleas in this case? Sure, you may lose a few sales, but the principle remains that, just because there's a huge disagreement over something as superficial as a name, you're STILL GOING TO GET A DAMN FINE MACHINE. SO QUIT female of the dog species.i don't care if i get sued i'm still referring revoloution as revoloution not "wii" screw nintendo and any other companies that don't listen to the customer.
As a rabidly loyal Nintendo fan, I just want to say:
WTF Nintendo? W...T...F...?
Although, I would like to renew my offer to bet one case of MGD that Ben is wrong and the console will be profitable for the company. Hell, it would probably be popular for them even if a singal unit never sold in any US speaking country. And with only 1 unprofitable quarter in 100 of the Company's history, I think its a pretty safe bet.
Oh yeah, and at least they didn't just call it Gamecube 2.... actually that might have been better....
The logo does look pretty cool. Looks like a guy giving the double-duce.

Warrenties were meant to be voided
I bet you Nintendo's gonna be boned on this venture.MajorLag wrote:As a rabidly loyal Nintendo fan, I just want to say:

Here's my impression of the sound made by Mario as he slides down Nintendo's soon-to-plummet stock:
"WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Seriously, I can't imagine how this came to BII. Did they even hold a focus group? Everyone I told about this laughed and said "WTF?" I thought Gamecube was a good name, this is an insane one.
This name + non standard controller + barely more powerful than an Xbox 1 = TANKAGE.
And the whole thing of "selling games to non gamers" is like trying to sell gas to people without cars.
On top of this it's sounding like *SHOCK* the PS3 will be $400, not a ZILLION like people thought for some reason.
Nintendo, stick to handhelds. Think of the money you'll save without those huge warehouses of unsold Gamecubes and WII's.

I just had an interesting revelation while dreaming of the Revolution, or perhaps I should call it the Wii?
Perhaps those 3 letters are an acronym, and not just a name as we think!
Okay, poem out of the way, it could be possible that Wii is simply and acronym for something else like "Worldwide Internet Interactivety".

Simple solution : Just call it the revolution
if no one refers to it as the "wii" then it would be as if it really were called the revolution
just scribblw out the Wii on the box and write rev underneath it

I'm thinking. Since Nintendo's teaming up with the company 'i' (prnounced EYE and not EEEE) why isn't it called the Wii (Pronounced Why).
I could live with that.
Also, the petition is now viewable (I'm number 111!)
