I really didn't like it at first, but its kinda growing on me. I'm sure after a month or so most everyone will be used to it. Besides its a name, whats in a name right? Rose by anyother name, would smell as sweet, so I'm sure a console by anyother name will play just as well. Call it NW if you want(nintendo wii)

I don't know, I personally don't think the name is that bad, the problem is that it will be fuel for endless online mockery about the pronunciation, similar to the whole DS "Touching is Good" thing. Once again I dont think it's a bad name but I think it will recieve endless abuse.
After all there's plenty of succesful stuff with dumb names:
"Macintosh"
Who wants a computer named after fruit!?
"Mac OS"
And is this the operating system for our fruit based computer or some kind of cereal? MMMMM.... MacOS!
"Windows"
Why not Doors or Skylights, or Central Heating Vents?
"IEEE"

Personaly I would have gone with somthing like WAiV or WAiVE like "new wave" It looks simliar and well dosn't make this line quite as funny:
"While the code-name 'Revolution' expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer."

Wii, sounds like something I do when I drink too much water. I am really looking forward to Nintendo's next console, but I hate the name. I can see it now, "Hey guys, wanna come play with my wii?" Brilliant move there Nintendo. Well, regardless, I will still get the console formerly know as Revolution.

that is the worst name ever. why would they change it, the revolution sounded great. This is just another example of how nintendo is trying to to go out of business. I bet they're selling out and just want the new company to take the blame for the terrible name. Those dumb asses
Im fairly sure you are all talking about it, and im sure everyone will know about the silly device that has a funny name. Like Andy Warhol insists, no press is bad press. And im also fairly sure Andy Warhol is a lot better in all ways shape and form than master cheif...
Im not worried about it. Why? Because im fairly certain if sony named their machine "Sony Ball-Licker" im sure the machine still contains a "cell processor" so whats the difference if Nintendo names their machine Wii? Im still fairly sure it'll play Sega Genesis games...enough said...
