yeah might as well put the processor and memory sticks in there too, no hard drives or other drives though. if the problem is a short circuit most likely something is fried, if you are lucky its just the power supply I am highly skeptical of the alcohol trick.

probably dont submerge the powersupply or the processor, only the motherboard on its own, because the powersupply has capacitors in there that will shock the hell out of you even when unplugged and there are microscopic. self-transforming machine elves that live inside there and you dont want to see ...

i think the biggest difference between those boards is the mini is about 4 times larger but the inputs and outputs are about the same, you wont get anything fancy out of a pico board though as far as performance. dont bother with nano-itx unless you manage to find one somewhere those things are like ...

You might want to replace the button batteries with something non-toxic. The cells will likely start to leak given enough time. The stuff inside them is fairly toxic too. dont worry the glue holding those button covers on will be gone long before then, if they have not started to come off already ...

a few years from now you are going to look at all those innovative design decisions and think, "oh man what was i thinking, dang did a pretty sloppy job too" but hey at least you cut straight lines around the screen so that part looks ok.

that looks like the smallest nesp by far, well except that one in a NES controller but it had no screen and i dont thing a battery either.
