Have you seen the NEW Genesis Game?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Post by Krepticor »

http://www.beggarprince.com/

This is a link to the developers of a new genesis game.

yes i said NEW GENESIS Game they had a booth at the 2005 classic gaming expo and are taking preorderes for $45...just as if it was 1993...again...

no this is not homebrew...
yes this is a new cartrige...
no it is not an emulating program...

FROM WHAT I HAVE READ

This is the real deal that a private SMALL developing group is actually creating a new game for the Sega Genesis...Cartrige and All...

I'll wait until ebay is saturated with 'em

It's not even a new game, it's a game from 1996 by a Taiwanese developer called C&E Inc., they just translated it into English and it's just getting published. That's why it's a Genesis cart.

yea I was at CGE hoping to see the finished product (that was supposed to be their release date) but it got delayed...

Too bad it's an RPG, I would have killed for just about any other genre of game (especially beat em up or shooter).

I'm not saying it won't be a good game, but just don't expect it to be something magical because it's "new."
Besides, have you played every single Genesis game out now? You can get "new" games just by going on eBay and picking out something you haven't played before ;)

There's all kinds of new Genesis, NES, SNES, and other console games at http://www.pdroms.de/ ! :D

(And before you get all "OMG ROMZ R ILLEGLE!!!!11!one!seven", it's a HOMEBREW site! :P HA!)

That site is pretty sweet; too bad the games aren't in cart form! Oh my goodness, Bowhack, stop being so pecimistic! It's not really so much for the fact that the game is "good" or "new", it just gives a sense of nostalgia and joy that people still give a crap about these old consoles. I never even played the Genesis, (I was an SNES guy) but I think it's great that people still care enough about the classics to make a new game after all this time!

the real difference between this project and the normal homebrew scene is that these guys are not only producing a cart but they're being far more ambitious about their project. They are trying to produce something very close to an official product, and I bet the final game will be virtually bug-free as well. The same things cannot be said for regular homebrew games. This project is far more ambitious.

What are you guys talking about? It's a game from 1996! It's not new! I used to translate ROMs. There's really no difference between what they did and what I did, except I never got the rights to the games to sell them. I wish I hadn't done it at this point, to be honest.

I'm not trying to detract from what they're doing. It's great to go to that extent, and I have great respect from them. I'm just saying that it's not something to orgasm over. Have a look at what TecToy is up to in Brazil too. They've done some amazing stuff on the Genesis.
