Ben and other independant film-makers, Read Here!

Post by Fanboy »

Recently put on Ebay are a series of phaux-money packages. This is the some type of false commerce used in such fliks such as Oceans 11, and other big films. There are none of these up at the moment, but I assure you there will be soon enough. The reason I'm posting this is because they're my dad's auctions...

I'm pretty sure it's bad to pass forged money as though it was real, but since this is basically a prop, and is advertised as such, it should be fine. If it was illegal to sell anything that even remotely resembles real money, then why do you see kids play money sets at Dollar Tree?

All fake money has a little bar on the side under the number that says in capitol letters "NOT A LEGAL TENDER". I know because thats whats on the side of my million doller bill :P

It's leagal to get these fake stocks as long as they describe that they are not legal tenders.

In the bidding, it clearly states that in the bidding that this is not legal tender, and is being sold as a prop for movies and plays. Plus, on the front it reads "For US Movies only'....

If you had left a link, I could have examined it, but you didn't. I got in trouble with johnny law about this type of thing, a friend had been making fake 5's.

Don't worry, most of them are blanks (that's what they used in the films!) and though it looks real, a quick examination will prove it isn't. Besides, my dad makes sure that it is known to be a prop so people don't try to pass it off as actual US currency, and if they do, it's not our fault. Besides, who would be stupid enought to try to use a clearly fake dollar bill?
