What's your Achillesâ€™ heel?

You know that sort of thing where you'd consider yourself an expert if it wasn't for that one thing you're crap at that lets you down.

When building portables for some reason I have a complete inability to install joypad buttons! Whether I'm laying out the pads underneath, cutting holes for the "+" or hacking into the pressure points. It just doesn't work for me and I end up just using these:

Although the red ones do have an Atari VCS feel to them

It's like my old VW Bug. I can change an engine, tune/rebuild a carburettor, rewire the electrics no problem - but ask me to change a clutch cable and I run away!

indeed cutting holes for buttons sucks that why i now do the bondo frankencase, so you just have to cut out one or two huge holes

You know, that's actually a damn good idea!

I got plenty of experience with bondo (kinda happens automatically when owning an old Volkswagen!) and lots of dead controllers that I've given up on canabalising. Hmm....

I was modding a NES controller* and my soldering iron accidentally touchet part of the button hole and put a small blemish in it. Now that damn thing wasn't flush and the button wouldn't go back in! I had to stick my soldering iron in the hole (without touching the walls) and heat up the plastic till it was soft and jam the button back in, moving it back and forth to create a smooth passageway.

*details on project to be revealed upon completion

Me = tightwad. I can't stand spending $30 on something I'm just going to tear apart and possibly destroy...

Oh and ID jumpers apparently... I'm trying to fix a PC and I failed to set the test drive from Master to Single, so I got all pissed at it for nothing.

My weakness is my ADD. It is also my strength.
I can't ever get my mind focused in one thing, but once I manage to get that done, I can stay on the same thing for days on end. When I was working on Penguins (my last game) I started 4:00 after school because I was bored and kept going to 4:00 am the next morning. I didn't even stop for a pee break.

That's what ADD can do to you :p
