I got the PS2 i ordered off Ebay, yesterday. The Description was "Disc Read Error", i got it couse i have slight experience fixing them. I got it out, It powers on, The tray opens, but its like the moter for lense is burnt out.

How much will it cost from SONY, to get this fixed, Microsoft had $80 that i got inbetween to fix my X-Box, thanks to G-Force. What is the cost, My friend sayed when he sent his in, all it cost was shipping back and forth, is it like that still?

I fixed a $5 DRE PS2 by just turning the white gear in the disc drive once clockwise! Why didn't you try that?

Sony might not want to fix it since you wern't the origonal owner. If they don't you can pick up a replacement DVD drive for around $60 or so and plop it in yourself.
