Nintendo's Grown Up Moments in Gaming

Post by demonofaj »

I'm gonna makes this thread: The history of the first M game on the Nintendo system, for each system. Correct me if I'm wrong, and help fill in some things I don't know.

NES- Hot Tub Vixens?
SNES- Mortal Kombat 1
Game Boy- ?
Game Boy Color- Grand Theft Auto
Game Boy Advance- Wolfenstein 3D
CDI- ?
DS- Resident Evil: Deadly Silence
N64- (I think) Conker's Bad Fur Day or Mortal Kombat Trilogy
NGC- Eternal Darkness- Sanity's Requim

Add any in I didn't put and also help answer some questions.

I don't think they really did have the rating system back in the NES day. I think they did for the SNES (I remember a Sega game with a rating, and that's the same era) but that would have a different scale

I think the first was on SNES and it was a real over-the-top Mortal Kombat game with a crazy name like Mortal Kombat Extreme DX Extra Mode Mega Pak

I'm pretty sure Alone in the Dark was the first for the GBC.

Well, Nintendo's niche is coming out with systems and games for the kids. This may be not be the target strategy of some game companies, but it seems to work OK for Nintendo, sure, they let a few violent games by to tempt the older crowd, but Nintendo remains at core a company that's all about the kids...

I'm pretty sure there was no M rated game for the Virtual Boy. All I've ever seen are KA (and I own half of the games).

Theres a few on the NES that were never released. I think it's called Hot-tub Vixens or something.
