Can't get headphone jack to work
I'm trying to take the wire from the 3 headpones wires amd put them onto my own jack. I've tried 3 setups and have only gotten left audio and the speakers stay on. Does anyone know where to solder each wire onto my 3 pin headpone jack? It's just a standard one.
ok. you dont want to mess this up.if you jsut guess, you could wire the headphones backwards. they will appear to work normally, but if a game uses the stereo sound to make something sound like its to one side of you (N64 games do do this sometimes... dont they?), it will be on the opposite side. .
use a multimeter and a headphone plug that has been cut from an old pair of headphones (i dont know about you, but i have about 10 old pairs of headphones that came free with music players and such that i would not mind cutting parts off of) expose and strip the three conductors that are inside the wire. use this diagram and the multimeter set to ohms to find out which one is which: (hint- usually black/copper:ground, red:right, white:left)

plug it into your jack now, and use the colours of the wiresv to find out which pins are which. now that you know that, find out somewhere what wires from the screen are what (hint- usually black:ground, red:right, white:left) and just match each to its partner.
