screen randomly not working

i tried to fix my screen today and first time i turned it on it worked flawlessly. then, just to make sure it was working well enough to finish up the portable, i turned it off and then on again and it didn't do squat, no LEDs or anything. then i had dinner and tried it again and it worked. i know my battery is fully charged. what are the deadth symptoms of NiMH batteries? the battery was powering the N64 and screen flawlessly for a long time (i played for about an hour with it) 2 weeks ago. do you think my battery's dead?

this sucks

Did you ever think it might just be a loose wire?

i thought it was that until i rewired it and everything and it still randomly stops working so i don't think it's that.

well i fixed the preblem. turns out the un-covered power switch kept bumping against the ground on the RCA jacks and set off a timed fuse in the battery's charging/fuse cicuit. a little bit of blue masckingtape fixed that

but now i have a new N64-related problem so go here
EDIT: problem not fixed, it's not working now

EDIT2: problem fixed, my ground wire fell off
