Well how about using 7 of these C cells, at 1.2V each, to make a 8.4V battery.
I think it would work, because I recall segasonicfan saying that once the voltage drops below 8.3V the PS2 will shut off. Well once a Ni-Mh cell drops below 1.2V it's almost dead anyways. So it ought to stay at (or slightly above) 8.4V before it runs out of power.
You might be able to power the PSone screen off it too, without any regulators.
Think it's a good idea? If it won't work on 8.4V, I could always add another to make 9.6V and use a regulator for the screen, and if needed PS2.
So the PStwo uses 8.5V eh?

C cells dont weight that much. And if you were using a GBO style case and positioned it between your hands, I doubt it would strain your hands. Besides, when I play something big, like a Game Gear, I tend to rest it on my lap or stomache when I play. How else would you ever play a larger portable, like a N64P or GCp or PS2p. You can't hold them forever.

i think you could recharge a series of 7 with a 7 cell NimH rc car battery charger
