led mods for ps1 screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

No. You CAN NOT use 5mm LED's. Please Search next time.

Once you open up the LCD module, you will understand.

Inside, there is a U shaped backlight that is roguhly 3mm wide. There is absolutely NO extra space. A 5mm LED wouldn't work, nor would a 3.5mm LED. (Although it MIGHT if you jammed it in real tight)
Hey, sup?

Get these right here. They are cheap and work well and the seller is great: http://cgi.ebay.com/10pcs-3mm-White-LED ... dZViewItem

actually, if you carved into the light diffuser, it might work...but 5mm leds use more power and some might be TOO bright.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

yeah the good thing about getting LEDs from ebay is
a) you can get lots of LEDs for a low price
b) they usually come with free resistors (mine did and it didn't even say it in the auction)
and don't even bother with 5mm LEDs, you need 3mm
