Good battery?

Anyone know of a really long lasting good battery I could use for my N64P in progress? I can't find a good one and it is impeding my progress. My dc-dc converter needs at least 9v and the psone screen can only take 9v so it needs to be 9v but I want a good one. Anyone know of any?

gforce is always going on about these 15 minute nimh batteries that he uses. its almost irrelevant how long they last, since you can recharge them in 15 minutes. (they would probably last an hour or two). i dont remember what they are called, but 8 of them in series would give you 9.6v

but that's to much for the screen. i got some of those 3.3v dc-dc convertors and was planning on using it for mine but my battery's 8.4v and after using it a while it got all messed up so i was like "skrew it" and just got a car adapter. it's more of a hassle to get the right voltage for those than just getting a different dc-dc convertor (car adapter)

will a car adapter work with a battery at less than 12 volts?

The Radioshack I work at just picked up some 7.2v, 3.3A RC car batteries for like $25 each. Pretty nice, and you could probably get them online.

Im gonna try to make the psone screen fold over the N64 like on the psone mini. This way I hope to have more space inside for batteries.
Man if size and weight wasnt as much a problem... those D's have 13000mah!

Oh yeah those things are hawt. Cheap at $3 a piece, work in any charger (but only charge in 15 minutes in an IC-3 charger). They now have them up to 2300 mah (mine I got years ago and they are 2000 mah.)
Ray-O-Vac 15 minute Ni-Mh Rechagable AA's(links to a review of them not the offical page) They have AAA's also if you need them.

You can find them at Wal-Mart, menards, knockoff version at radio shack, anywere really.

Sorry that I can't reccoemdn any other batterys, these are the only ones I've ever used (and they've worked spiffy so far, why change.)

I'm using a pair of 9.4V 2500mAh rc batteries in a batterypack for mine. Can't wait for them to come in.

hey G-force, can you check the current output of the charger for those batteries? it'd be nice to wire them all up in series and be able to charge them in 15 minutes...hell, not even li-poly batteries charge that quick! it says IC-3....perhaps that means it's C*3? eh, probably not, but we'll see

.

crap, looks like they might need some sort of cooling system to be able to charge them so quickly....
