Linux Cluster

I've ben looking for a new project. I've been in limbo waiting for my lexan to come for my Atari case. I am going to make a Linux cluster using about 10 486/286/386 i have at least enough power supplies and mobos I just don't know about cases. One is definatky going to be a MGDp look alike.

too expensive. I don't even know what to use a cluster for yet. If anyone has an idea tell me. And don't say cure cancer I talking about 486s

I know this should be in the DreamCast section but I've seen x-box and PS2 clusters sao I thought dreamcast. I was wondering if someone ported Mandrake on the DC not freebsd or redhat.

In a Red Bull induced frenzy I loaded Linux on a 486 44 Mhz and one out of my two dreamcasts. Once I install the Linux that lets you use the VMU I'll link as many DC as I can get my hands on/.

Linux on the Dreamcast to my knowlege is only one distro. Go to linux.org and click distrobutions, "platform" select "other" and click the link to DClinux.

The other OS I know of is NetBSD. They're well developed (more so than linux is) on the Dreamcast.

Also if your going to do a cluster using 486 computers, might I suggest the distro Damnsmalllinux.org. Its small and they have had it work on 486, even getting the thing to surf the web.
