tool is a band. they are sort of like. progressive rock... or something. its hard to place them. perhaps you recognize these songs:

schism
lateralus
parabola

they all got airplay at some point (as well as other older ones)

if you are interested, i suggest you go download lateralus and listen to it (its the title track off their last album... if youre really cool you'll download the whole album ;) )

TOOL! yeah, my friend listens to that...its his favorite band. I only like some of there songs, but some of them are just so long like over 8 minutes long.

most of them are over 7 minutes.

but thats whats so great... you get so much more for your money. i love it. their live version of third eye is 15 minutes. and if you count the three songs at the end of lateralus as one song (it was originally all written together, then broken up), then thats 24 minutes! wooo!

that is true, i guess when i first listened to tool (only listened to one of their cds like once or twice over my friends house) I was playing some melee on the GC and i couldn't tell if it was still on the same song or not. I do have to agree with you that you do get your moneys worth and a lot of their songs have meaning behind them  at least from what i've heard.
