...you win a BRAND NEW PSone LCD for $0.99! Yeah, I did it! ONLY the catch was... $37.50 shipping and insurance... Still, a brand new PSone LCD for $39 is cheap! Looking to mod this into my new PC case, and need help connecting to VGA output. Should I solder direclty to my GeForce 6600 256MB card, or solder the LCD's input to a VGA plug (and switch the plugs as needed?) I'd also like to composite, NOT componet, mod the screen to use outside devices, and view them through the LCD. I'll hack one of my 5.25" drive bay covers with brightness up and down buttons, and a video in. Anymore ideas for mods? Can I get links to pinouts replied directly to this thread? I used to have all this stuff, then I gave up and sold it all, and threw all my documentation away... Thanks!

Erm... you do know that most video cards don't support the frequency needed by the PSone screen? I'd recommend soldering the screen to a VGA connector (so you can unplug it if needed.)

I don't see how... I've seen multiple Psone screens in PCs... I just don't have the correct docs and diagrams to do it. Hard for me to search if I don't know how to find it.

It's extremely simple to do...I already did it. All you need to do is search in google "psone screen to pc". The diagram that you'll need will come up right away. Here...it was so easy that I did it for ya:

Very simple to do! Then, search for Powerstrip, and you are ready to make your screen in your pc. You'll see my work if you go into case construction and look for my pc project topic.

... and even if you run powerstrip, you run the chance of not being able to get the exact timings for the screen. Its pretty much a hit or miss deal. Out of the 40 computers i tried this on in my lab, only the ones with generic video cards, and a few ATIs actually got it working properly.

Now see, thats what I was wanting to get. I used to have this printed out, but lost it. Thanks a lot! I tried searching PSone to VGA, but nothing. I dunno why? I'll try it on my Xfx GeForce 6600 by hooking it up to a VGA cable first... If it works, in conjunction with that program, I'll then hard solder it. I have no plans to upgrade in the future, unless GeForce 7800 gets down to about $250 within 2 years...

This seems simple now that I look at it. I just gotta build a H sync + V sync to C-synv combiner... This may be the hard part of the whole deal. The main point of the screen is to have a second screen to view things like Ps2 or DVD movie. Its simple if i take my PC to a friend shouse, and wanna play a game while we download updates, or new software and stuff. I still wanna get it to work with my computer though...
