Did I fry my NOAC? (vertical lines in video problem)

I have a Super Joy III. It was working fine until I de-soldered the Famicom Port off. I hooked it back up to my TV and I can still play the built in games and stuff, but there's vertical lines everywhere. Did I fry it when I de-soldered the Famicom Port or is it just acting strange becuase it misses it's port or is it something else that's messed up?

Is it possible that I just messed up the built in games? Cause I plan on soldering in an NES port.

Now that I think about it, I had to pull pretty hard on the port to rip it off the board cause some solder was being stuburn. Maybe I damaged something minor. What would cause vertical lines? Maybe a damaged capacitor or something?

Look carefully for bridged or torn traces. You can fix them with wire-wrapping wire.

There is something similar in the second version of the NES because it is missing something as minute as a capacitor. so it could be a torn trace as above, or you could have overheated a component near the port.

OMG I fixed it! thanks guys! I took a little closer look at the traces and found a tiny splatter of solder bridging two pins. I scratched it off and it worked!

whew, thanks, i had the exact same problem, i thought i had fried something because i used the 9v adapter without a 7805 voltage regulator.

i tried to de-solder the cartridge port without a "solder-sucker" and finally gave up in frustration, but i had left pieces of solder connecting some of the pins. i cleaned it all up and it worked fine.
