Button Question

I was wondering, can you just attach buttons to your computer using your printer port? Cause then i could make some easy arcade controls or something like that. Thanks for the help!

I dont know about that but i think you could do it via usb

but that would require a usb enoder (i think) and i would resciricted to like 4 buttons.

looks like you get to write yourself a driver.

shouldn't be too hard. I used to have an snes pad on the parallel port way back when. of course I had a driver and full instructions.

I would say just rewire a snes or something controller to use arcade controls.

Step 1
Gut out old computer controller

Step 2.
Sand board lines to buttons, and replace with Wanted buttons.

Step 3
Make it fit into something you want to hold

Step 4
hahahahahahaha you thought there was a step 4

step 5
Plug it in and play! (Preferably USB cause USB is awesome about plugging it in and calibration, all that good stuff.)

ok, i know USB is very useful, but i want to be able to hook this up to an old computer without USB and anyways, i dont have any controllers.

You need to read this

And get IO.DLL from GeekHideout.com. Grab a copy of VB6 somewhere, and you're set.
