landline phone not working

ive just been given this rather lovely ex-office landline phone.

but the problem is that it was an office phone, and is designed to be connected to a phone server (if thats the right terminology). as a result when i plug it into my normal wall socket it doesnt work.

there must a simple hack to get around this, but i havnt got the first idea how to go about it.

also, i cant really search for it becuase i dont nkow what to search for

If it's just the design you like, rip the guts out of a normal phone and put them in there.
