DSL BOOTABLE CD HELP NEEDED

I'm sorry but I realy want a DSL bootable CD. Yes I did search both here and gooooogle but could find no clear instructions. I have the file recomended (dsl-1.5) now what do I do with it?

Do I simply burn it to a disk like any other file?

Do I burn it as an disc image?

Are there other files/folders that need to be on the disk with it?

Am I even asking the right questions?

BTW currently the only burning software I have is Nero Express and microsofts in built one (Running XP).

I'm sorry but I have never had cause to create any other bootable CDs before so the process is unfamiliar to me, and all the stuff from google was either criptic or for windows.

If your using something like Nero you choose the option to burn a image (or saved project). I dont know if it works if you drop the image in and have the program set to burn a bootable, if you have a CD-RW try it out.

yep, just burn the disc image just like any other disc image.

Ok dsl-1.5.iso is burned as an image to a CD-R but it won't boot. The cd drive is set to the top of the list but still nuthin' I'm goning to try the alternate file. Are you 100% sure there are no other files that need to be on the disk with it such as "bootfloppy.img"?

Make sure the disc is finalized, multi-session CDs won't boot.

No the boot.img is part of the .iso. It should boot, but as Bicostp said no finalization no go (drive sees it as an unfinished burn). Other then that if it still doesnt book you can try asking what to do at the forums of Damnsmalllinux.org. The last ditch thing you can try is boot the boot.img through floppy and then run from cd.

Thanks for all the help guys! I think the computers i'm trying it on are configured not boot off of disks since during start up I see "Boot CD"
then the restore bar (as if coming back from hibernation) and then the widows logo.

Just to clarify (probably somthing I should have done Before trying this out on disks) was I supposed to be selecting "Bootable Disk" after "data" in Nero? If so my plan may be shot since there's no floppy drive on any of the machines I have access to. (and that option needs a boot floppy to copy)

EDIT: Never mind. I did more googling and found what I needed. I'll brobably have the DSL once I get a usb floppy drive.
