hook a GBC to a TV?
I found my old GBC the other day, and decided I'd try to turn it into a console system. I took it apart (I had to remove those wierd nintendo screws with a drill press) and built a controller for it. I was about to go into hacking the A/V stuff in order to hook it to a TV, but I realized that the LCD might be a problem. Long story short, I need a way to hook the video feed to a TV. Anyone got any ideas?

yes.....give up...now....sorry, but it'd be really hard to get that digital signal to output to your tv..it could be done, but it'd be incredibly hard and you'd be wasting a huge amount of time instead of playing some good GBC games....
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Say, what if I rerout the signal from the cartdridge slot itself. In other words, wire it so that the video signal goes from the cart slot to a video out port, rather than somehow connecting the video out to the LCD in some strange way.... could work....could not..... I guess I'll have to experiment like crazy.
Theres no analog signal on any portable by Nintendo to even think of.

Is it possible? Yes.
Is it possible for you? Well, if you're asking if it's possible, most likely not.

Well, you'll have to either program, make and build a decoder board, or you could get one of the converters that let consoles play the portable games on the TV.
I know there's the Super Game Boy, but it doesn't play the color games...
Does the Game Boy Player support legacy games? Or is it like the micro; GBA-only?

GBP does everything the normal GBA could do(so it does do GB,GBC,and GBA, allows for screen stretch in GB/GBC, but doesn't do the SGB effects for SGB games)bicostp wrote:Well, you'll have to either program, make and build a decoder board, or you could get one of the converters that let consoles play the portable games on the TV.
