i got the link for this particular model from the E-Unicycle, but i am prototyping the 6DOF board, and you can make any other one with it (for 4DOF, don't use the z-Axis board, for 2DOF just use the z-Axiz board as a *-Axis). they posted a .pdf of the board right on the page, so i guess it's ok with them if you make one for yourself, and since the 4DOF (the one i need) board is $320 i wouldn't buy one anyway. i emailed them asking if it was ok if i did this, and they didn't say no (it really was just a formality, i would've built one anyway
i don't want you to tell me your interested if you would've bought one from them, because i'm selling their product for less than they are selling it. but i don't think it's wrong to do this if you wouldn't've bought from them anyway, it's not like they are losing money or anything. they also published a .pdf and publicly posted it on their page using a program i use (expressPCB, screw eagle and it's complicated design), really a "left the front door open and the TV was missing when i came home" situation, even though it would really be a "i left the front door open and i came home and all my books were read" situation (i'm just using their information).
it looks like there is one E-8 surface mount accererometer for each axis, but everything else is through hole mount (1/4W resistors, radial leaded capacitors, and DIP IC's). looks easy once you get the parts and get those damn SMD parts on.
right now the price stands at about $100 USD for two boards, but i'm probably going to want some extra boards for myself, so i will be fair and credit myself with a few more "shares" of the price (if i get five boards and five others buy a single board, i'll pay half the total cost). the boards are 2.5" X 3.8" (6.35 X 9.65 cm) so i can probably just mail it in a standard envelope, so add 50 cents if you want for postage (in the US, deffo add for shipping to the UK).
i have gotten two of the three sections done, if anyone is interested in a 6DOF or 2DOF let me know so i'll hurry-the-hell-up getting the last part done.
if you want me to email you the file as an attachment email me and i will, it'll make me feel secure knowing there is two people trouble shooting the board for mistakes (haven't found any yet, but i don't want to screw everything up for everyone) instead of just me.
i also posted this on bit-tech.net's forums, so more people will (hopefully) do this, thus lowering the individual cost
