9.6V Batteries for pstwo portable

Alright my PStP is done except no battery. I want to go buy 2 9.6V Rc batteries 2300mAh that are really cheap. And I have heard with dc-dc converters I can bring the voltage down to 8.5V.
BTW: I use a intec screen (7.5V) and pstwo(8.5V) and the intec screen runs fine off 8.5V.

So what would I need to use to get the best performance from 2 parallel 9.6V (4600mAh total) batteries down to voltages to use in my portable? any help plz

a DC-DC converter would be best because when it lowers the voltage it raises the amps

You might not be able to find one that drops from 9.5v to 8.5v though. Still, it's worth the price if you can get it.
