Tristar 64

Post by atkafighter »

Hi,
I have a few questions about the tristar 64. First how is the quality of the product (shoddy pirate junk, or quality third party accessory equivalent to mad catz and others). Second does it require and external power source or is the draw from the n64 somehow? Third I have noticed that in the pictures of the tristar that I have seen there is a blue jumper/expansion pack is this necesscary for the unit to work? Fourth, how much should I pay for one (whats a deal and whats a ripoff). And last, does it play the games in perfect emulation or is it noticibly slower than the true counterparts (a real nes, snes).
Thanks

The colors will not be very good and it will be MUCH harder to make than a normal SNESp. As in harder than making a .5" thick PS2p.

I guess you remember that I was working on an snesp. Well I just wanted to know about the tristar because I was thinking about buying one. Someone like me wouldn't be able to portablize an N64/tristar combo (It would be really awesome though). Anyway its about time to go back to school and to bring one console (N64 + loads of carts) would really help me out, but if the quality of the product is no good I'll pass on it.

You can actually use the Tristar w/o an N64, it just means redesigning the whole Tristar board into a new layout that will work.

Why don't you just google stuff before asking what it is? Google it!

I guess a US version hasn't come out. I was just thinking of attaching a screen to my N64 and getting a tristar, but the tristar is expensive and the image quality isn't that good.
EDIT: You beat me
