controller woes

hrm i ruined the connect to the ps2 on my madcatz dual force 2 controller that is mounted and wired into my case except i have no clue which wires *except grnd and pwr* go anybody got any ideas on how to figure this out or have a madcatz controller i could use as reference?

I'd say take a muliti-meter and check to see if you get a connection through all the wires. It might not be easy and could take time but it is the best way to be sure.

dintyou have any remains of what youve removed that you could referendce against?

Yea but its realy no help i know red is to the left of blue, blue is a pin 3 or 4 and green and yellow follow it with white somewhere on the same side as yellow and supposedly on the controller itself it has numbers near the wires and they seam to go in the same order though id ont get it maybe i fryed the controller is it possible?

What did you mean take a multimeter and check which gets signals? How would i go about doing that?

BTW: I dont think the controller works anymore? because im certain i have the wires arranged correctly So I believe im going to have to redo it all and get a new controller to work with preferably the same exact one because of ease of implementing it :-/ I suppose something could have gone wrong in splitting the controller into 3 sections hopefully its not going to ruin anything by digging down to the controller boards

Ah figured id bump this with results:
Turns out the little black magnetic strip is needed on all buttons for the controller to work at all or the chip on it wont respond to anything.

So the only way to get around this i believe is to have all buttons hooked up to that or use the board for the dual shock 2 and just leave the ribbon attached and solder on your switches as desired. Any Questions just ask -_-
