Just wait until the emulators are ported, then upgrade.

What I use my PSP most for:
1) Lumines, via memory stick or UMD. I use stick when I have to go out and want to bring two games with the hassle.
2) Movies, I have a gig and I use it to it's extent. With 2.0 the video quality could improve. One of the better things.
3) Other games. I have 8 other games, but I don't play them as much as did before last month. I got a PSP in march and played them up until last month. Now I just play NFS, Twisted Metal, Wipeout, and Lumines. I also play Ape Escape.
4) Homebrew, I play old games that I used to play for SNES and when my gameboy's battery is dead I play pokemon and tetris attack. I love homebrew, but I don't feel it's the reason I got a PSP. If I wanted a movie player / homebrew player I would have gotten a GP32.
5) Music, yeah I know. I'm crazy considering I have a 20GB iPod. But it's handy to have a couple of tracks on when I just want to relax.
6) Webbrowsing, when I need to check on a site and I am out, when I need to test a connection, or when I want to show someone something without having to lug around my laptop or having to spend money to buy an adapter for my PDA (which I rarely use).
So, pros and cons:
Pros:
Higher Quality Videos
Webbrowsing with faster speeds
Cons:
No more homebrew
I am fine with the video quality now, and I can see a homebrew webbrowser in the future. And unless sony did something drastic in which you would need to update the system to play new games, then I'll update...the system I get from the free-psp service.

though, It looks like 2.0 will be a whole new thing to work with. I kinda like the ceramic white PSP, but the new box with the green screen will go right next to the 360's box.
