pstwo wifi

hey, im thinking about getting a pstwo when their prices go down and amke a portible out of it. so i was wondering if you could incorporate a small wifi adapter into it? that would be nice, cause i could play at the librairy.

I would suggest (if you have a Mac, this is excellent) that you incorporate a small AirPort Express into the design of your portable, removing its internal AC adapter in the process. If you're going for a still-usable Express, I suggest you install some sort of external DC in jack and leave the original adapter there. Photos of the disassembly can be found here.

Note: I was going to try to build a PSTwop for my friend and integrate this idea, that's why this is thought out.

im thinking one that would go on the back, so i could remove it if i needed it for something else

Then do what I said, open up the Express and unplug the power from the board. Then, wire the AC adapter to 2 DPDT switches (the adapter gives off 5vdc and 3.3vdc), wire the other innards to the middle terminals (and line up the wires so black and red match up) and wire some kind of plug to the other side (again, line up the terminals). Put the other side of the plug in the portable (I suggest using one of the original power connectors that's in there, because it's there!) and wire it up with the correct regulator/DC-DC convertor. Label the switch for AC and DC power and you're done!

Or you could just buy a gaming wireless hook up from big WM they sell them for like $40 an leave in the usb port if you have a cable or dsl the other thing awsome about those is that they can atoumatically hook up to another systm if there is one nearby

One disadvantage to your idea: if you use WEP or WPA encryption, you can't configure these things to work with your home network. An AX is a fully-functional wireless router, whereas these can only grab an unprotected signal from the air.

Actually if you read up on the topic you can beef up the protection from the signal so you dont have the ability of being hacked and stuff like that like if you read Wi Foo

there was also another thing that caught my eye at big WM a bluetooth usb connection??? although im not so sure that would good to jam in the ps2p without a proper system
