I think im out a hip gear screen but its ok because I went out and bought a psone screen. It's great because before my snesp looked strange with such a big board and such a small screen (the hip gear looked great... looks like a sharper gba screen and BACKLIGHT not frontlight *cough* SP). Now I have this big beautiful display with great sounding speakers. Not to say that the hip gear didn't look great because it did, but the psone screen is by far the better option over the hip gear. I think a hip gear should only be used on a very small project (like an noac in an altoids). Other than that I would pay the extra $20 for the psone lcd and then sell back the psone for $15 (my hip gear cost me $30 at a gamestop and ebay would rip you off even worse with shipping). In total you only pay $5 for 3" more of screen

Im too chicken to led mod it but thats ok because the snes can take a wide range of voltages.
What do you guys think of the psone lcd? What other screens compare to the psone lcd? Ive only been able to work with a hip gear and the psone screen.
EDIT: I put this topic here because it doesn't really involve hacking screens in any way just talking about the quality/value of the psone screen.
especially since you can get a non-working one really cheap and fix it easily. once Gamelver finishes his improved LED mod it'll look great even with the mod
