Any where else for tact switches?

Post by jeffslot »

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere else to get the tact switches for the atari 2600 project in Ben's book? I already ordered them from Digi-Key, but they are on "Back Order". I was kind of hoping to get them sooner, as I'm going to have access to a friend with some electronics experience to help me with my project this weekend. So unless I can get those tact switches - it will be pretty much as waste of time. Thanks.

Jeff S.

P.S. If anyone wants to trade some tact switches for some type of classic video game something or other, please let me know.

Really,

radioshack? Everytime I look there, they don't have them. Any chance you could show me a link from there on-line store or catalog number? Thanks again.

our friend *o* luckily has no access to radio shack, they actually do not carry them but if you have a broken VCR they usually have some inside of them

How many? Wait, I have a really good deal. I only have two tact switches, but I will also throw in this funky D-pad circuit board with a rubber pad, so you don't need 4 more. Want?

Edit: Never mind on the extra two, I lost them. But I do still have the D-pad thing to cut down on costs.

I've got to pass on the D-pad. As this is my 1st project, I'm finding anything that variates from the book to be a bad idea. I've got myself into trouble already with a audio/video output bypass. Unfortunately I need all 8 tact-switches. My sister told me I could have a broken VCR of hers, but I't is a gamble that the tact switches will 1) fit & 2) be good. Thanks for the offer though.

Well if you go through the Phone Book to electronic parts, call up all the places and ask them. I found my supplier and he has at least 100 of each variety.

I know it would be about $2 shipped if I wanted 3 of them, but the vast majority of that goes towards the paypal fees. Otherwise, it would only be about 5 cents each, IIRC.

Edit: er, that's if I bought it from gannon
