Hay guys,
gamerlolwind here and I'm thinking of making my own ps2P, the freeboot.

I'm thinking of getting a second ps2 and an 5.6inch ps2 lcd that'll go on the back of the system.

it'll be powered by an Li ion 11v 6600 may, i've read that the ps2 needs an 9v 5400 may battery to run fully.

about getting my second ps2. i'll be running freemc boot on it via my card memor 32 that has FMCB installed on it.
but my question is,
the new ps2 models that are/have been out now are sch 9000 series and are priced at 84.99 to 97.99 depending on local store that i've been to.

i know free mcboot won't work on sch 9000 series.
well on 8a/8b yes but 8c no, and if it is an V230 it can't work.
on a V220 it can becude it is an older bios before mar 2008.

so how can i know or be sure that the ps2 i'll get soon will be an sch that i hopefully can soft mod?

also how do i wire my battery to the ps2?

You go to where you plug in the power cable into the PS2, on the inside the lead that goes into the mobo from inside the yellow connector (So like think of it as the hotdog inside the bun) is the + lead and the outside (OR the bun) is the ground. Except on the ps2 they dont touch

There isn't a really good way of checking aside from looking at the back of the PS2 itself and checking the model number. Therefore you have two options:
1. Buy it new from a place that has a decent return policy (like Target or Walmart), and return it if it isn't the right model number.
2. Buy it used from a used game store like Play 'N Trade, Gamestop, etc. Most of these types of stores will be willing to help you find an older model number if you go in at a time that isn't too busy.

Usually buying it used from a used game store is easier, in addition to being cheaper.

so if they touch it's like they'll explode or thats what i've read for li ion batteries.

anyways, i'll keep this in mind when i get my battery and ps2 and want to solder/hook them up.

also i'll be using my adjustable regulator for taking the 11V down to 9V for the ps2.
the ps2 power supply takes 8.5v actually.

i think the lcd i'll be using takes ??dc i check the description it doesn't say how much it takes.

but i can use my 11v li ion 6600mah for both he ps2 and screen?

1. nice idea, through my local store i'll have to see on saturday when i go to see if i can get my ps2.
2. good idea, i found some used ps2 on amazon uk but the offers weren't available for some time after i added them to my saved items and had it there for buying later when i had the money.

i'll go to my local games store and see if they have the ps2 i want , if not i'll find one on amazon uk hopefuly.

That is how you wire your lithium ion batteries so that they don't explode. Make sure you use the protection PCB, otherwise you are pretty much guaranteed to blow up your batteries.

but i won't be needing it as i found a screen for my ps2 which has 2 x 3.7v litum polymer batteries bluit in,
my ps2 will need an 8.5v/9v battery,
i heard that the best battery type is dvd portable 9v.
i found this on amazon com. when i typed portable dvd battery i got this as the only battery choice on top list.

is it okay for me to use this for my ps2? or should i use my adjustable reg to change it's volts?

it has 9V 23WH

not sure about mah. is it V/WH = MAH?

should the mah be 5400 or over?

and how do i make it fit in the ps2 socket dc?
