My computer upstairs isn't playing DVDs

That happened to my CD burner, eventually, after like a year of it not working, I just ripped it out.

Did it used to work and then just suddenly stop? That would probably indicate some sort of hardware problem, if you haven't touched the software or any of your system files for a while.

lemme guess, its a liteon drive? i have one and its a total peice. it does recognize DVDs about half the time, it took me 6 tries to get it to see hl2! only about half the DVDs i have tried to watch have worked
