DVD Playback

My computer upstairs isn't playing DVDs

It has a DVD Drive, correct drivers, a DVD Decoder, and it ain't working? Why? I also have registered versions of PowerDVD 6 and InterVideo WinDVD 2000? Someone please help me

First, do you mind croping your sig just a little. 2nd try it with different software. It might be a hardware problem if the problem persists.

That happened to my CD burner, eventually, after like a year of it not working, I just ripped it out.

on most DVDs is a program loaded up on them called PC friendly I would try looking for that on your DVDs,
if it is on thier it would say it on the back
i do know Blade II has the program on the DVD

I have the same problem with my laptop. The DVD starts to play but after half a second it starts to get all gibbled and skipps and eventuly explodes... ok it just frezes but it's just as bad as explodeing.

Did it used to work and then just suddenly stop? That would probably indicate some sort of hardware problem, if you haven't touched the software or any of your system files for a while.

the problem is, my DVD drive isn't regionizing them at all, every single DVD I attempt to play.

lemme guess, its a liteon drive? i have one and its a total peice. it does recognize DVDs about half the time, it took me 6 tries to get it to see hl2! only about half the DVDs i have tried to watch have worked
