Sega Gemini...Coming soon.

Post by Gannondorf929 »

Genesis+Mini=Gemini
So, after poking around on the forums, not really posting, I was intrigued about the radica; more accurately, ben's exodus. Well, I was able to procure a cheap radica, a screen, and a broken genesis (for the slot), but of course the screen was really tiny, and had no way of obtaining composite video. Note to all of you, never buy a used casio tv-480. Well, in light of that mishap, I opened up the radica, and started messing around with it. I carved the controller into 4 parts (d-pad, abc, start, and the glop-top), and soldered wire to the leads. The controller works fine. I ordered a new screen; one of those car lcds, that I shall be using. I'm also gonna take take the cartridge slot out of the broken genesis and wire it up to the removed radica rom (I may reuse the rom, too. hmm). The old Casio wasn't a complete waste, as I got a speaker out of the deal. So, I'm gonna build one of those lm386 amps, hook her up, and put everything together in a custom-made, vacuum-formed box. Pictures are coming soon, because I can't find my camera. :wtf:

Good luck to ya..hopefully you're not as cursed as I am, and won't have to go thru nearly as many radica boards as I did lol.

Haha! I actually saw your portable, and even though it took a while (and a lot of radica boards ;)), it was really professional. Btw, I stole some of your ideas, such as the audio amplifier and the better screen. Hope you don't mind.

Also, I found my camera, so pics coming soon! But without the screen, I can't do much.
