N64 Console - Running Emulators?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

N64 Console - Running Emulators?

Post by Nintendonut »

Ok,

It would obviously be a big mod, but has anyone managed to get their N64 modified to run emulators?

Thanks

 Sorry I thought it was obvious, but reading it again I didn't explain very well.

the nintendo 64 can play nintendo 64 games. it doesn't need to emulate them.

An emulator is program that emulates (makes a virtual version of hardware) to run games for a specific system. A computer can emulate an N64 as it is not an N64. An N64 is already an N64. Your asking if something could emulate itself. Can I pretend to be myself? I am already myself, so why do I need to pretend?

Edit: If you are speaking of emulators for other systems, probably so, but I do not think it has been done. You need to work on wording your speech/text so that people can make a somewhat coherent understanding of what you are trying to say. Being an ass doesnt help; IE: "I guess I wasn't clear: N64 EMULATORS"

unless this guy is the worlds biggest dumbass he might mean puting PC hardware inside the 64 chassis that can emulate a 64 for improved resolution and framerate

Why is that? Especially when rotary tools are so common and inexpensive?

That annoys me on otherwise-great projects.

Bush: how do you know this I didn't think you asked the question?...

Diminuendo: I do mean adding PC hardware so that an N64 can play both cartridges and also run a Nintendo 64 Emulator so that games can be stored in the console itself and played without a cartridge. Just curious if its been done is all... :)

Secondly, my comment about not being clear....I wasn't very clear, and admitted that....how is this being an ass? also bush, use spell check  . Seriously there are quite a few "jumped up" people on here..... Bored now :wtf:

Sorry to all those that feel this thread has became a waste of time, if I had known some people would have gotten funny about it I wouldn't have asked. I joined this forum to get ideas and input into my possible projects, I was under the impression it was a friendly forum, where you could ask questions (however uneducated they may be) and get a helpful answer. On the whole people on here seem helpful....but then others let the forum down ..

Thanks to those who have tried to be helpful though, appreciate it!! :D
