i have a 7.2 volt RC car battery charger from radioshack and 6 1.2 volt rechargables

i have replaced the original charger's tip with a phono plug and placed the -wire on the longer lead and the + wire on the shorter lead

and my phonojack i have the - hooked up to the lead in the middle and my + to the longer lead why wont this piece O crap charge

That was about the most confusing description that I have ever heard. Maybe a picture or schematic would help.

is the one with the stripe negative i sure as keck hope so

look down the page farther to see correct wiring for the jack

Are your batterys Ni-CD or Ni-MH? Because you have the charger in Ni-MH at the moment so if your trying to charge Ni-CD batterys your frying them like eggs.

Stop calling them NI-MI!!! That is the formula for a battery that couldn't exist. They are Ni-MH.

You are hurting me with your nonexistant batteries!!!

I've been wonderring that for a while. A couple days ago, I went through and posted a paragraph long explaination on wgy that combination could not work. One thing that I forgot to mention, is that MI means Metal Iodide. That is impossible because iodine is a non-metal.

i'll just call them other batteries now

oh yeah i got the charger working with the help of my trusty multimeter here is how the phono jack should go
