I see you have AdAware installed. Make sure it's updated and run it in safe mode. Does all this stuff happen in Safe Mode?

Try running ScanDisk.

OK, from your description, your hard drive is failing. Buy a new drive, swap it out with your current one. Then run Windows Installer off of the CD on the NEW drive. After that's done, set up your old hard drive as a Slave drive, and copy all your stuff off of it.

Oh, and get AVG Antivirus.

could you post a bigger pic of your desktop?

Sounds like you'd be better off buying a new comp. :(

Sorry, man. :(

Try going to a computer repair place (privately owned, a "mom and pop" store). I went to one in RI last month, and he gave me a 10GB drive and a copy of Win98SE. :D (Maybe because I needed them for a school comp? or maybe because those parts aren't what people want? )

Sorry. (My folks don't want me to trade things.) :(

Maybe a place like CompUSA would have old repair scrap parts?

See if you can get your folks to buy a new HD for you. (It might work...)

Do you have a CD burner or something else to back up your stuff onto? If you do, then you shouldn't need a new hard drive. Just copy all of your stuff that you don't want to lose onto it.
Then boot off an uninfected dos floppy and run fdisk /mbr to clean your boot record of any viruses. Then run fdisk and delete all partitions. Create a new partition and format it. Then install Windows. Then copy your stuff back onto the hard drive. Then be sure to install plenty of anti-virus and anti-spyware programs to prevent it from happening again.
