Alright, so im a super noob right now, and i plan on modifying my wii, or maybe my xbox 360, possibly making one portable, if i get enough experience. I have a lot 'o guts from some computers i recently gutted, and im seeing what i could do with them, so if anyone can answer the questions, that would be great;
Can you replace the wii's CD drive with one from a laptop?
Can you replace a hardrive from an xbox/wii with a computers? And is doing so legal?
Can you add working USB ports to the Xbox?

You can on the xbox, and it depends on what you mean by replacing, there is no internal hdd, although you can load games from a sundriver with a hdd or via usb. I'm not sure if it's legal.
Yes, controllers on the xbox use a usb port with a different shaped connector.
