it says DEBUG mode
is this a problem or is it because of those evil posts

Yeah, they're getting through. It's just a problem with the emailer.php file (or something.) not being able to send the notification emails. (I think... That's what the problem was for me anyways...)

The best workaround I know of is to turn off the feature that e-mails you when you get a new PM.

Works fine for me, but I turned email notifications off a long time ago.
The email script on phpbb sucks, when I did have it on it'd send me around 20 emails whenever I got 1 new pm

That's odd, I've never had a problem with the emailer, other than this current bug

anyway, maybe this should be stickied. It's been mentioned a few times before.

I never used that feature, and I have the problem.

I don't think the pm's are getting out I've sent many, many pm's and have gotten no replys.

THEY GO OUT! IT'S JUST THAT PEOPLE DONT LOOK AT THE MESSAGE AT THE TOP! THEY DON'T GET THE EMAIL, SO THEY DON'T CHECK!

I bet it has something to do with the host or the port settings or something along those lines.

Does it come up when you send a PM to someone you know who doesn't have e-mail notification turned on?

It doesn't matter if you have it on, because it sends the email to the other person, not you. Odds are that it happens even if the receiver has it off, because "emailer.php" probably checks the other persons settings, so it is run anyways.

It doesn't work on this forum, so you have to host externally and link.

Really, I guess it is better that way, because it saves on bandwidth and storage.
